There was a chill in the air and a packed house waiting when Stevie Starlite made his arrival at St. John's Pub in St. John, IN. He sauntered in around 9:30 and got right to work. My buddy had been telling me about this guy for a while now and wanted me to go check him out. I really didn't know what to expect, but had heard his humor was a bit crude. Humor? Are we going to see a comedian or a rocker?
Turns out Stevie is both. Rather than finding Stevie's humor offensive, I found it wicked funny. Since he poked fun at all groups and types, including himself, it was hard to take any of it too seriously. I talked to the man for awhile and he seemed not at all like his stage personna. The guy also just plain kicks ass on guitar.
If you get a chance to go see Stevie, DO IT. A lot of fun for your entertainment dollar. Leave your PC friends at home though.
