A mid fall evening ushered the high energy sound of Black Betty onto the Northwoods stage in St. John, IN. Tom Lounges of Xrock was on hand to extend the red carpet to this up and coming Chicago band making their region debut.
Led by the energetic Molly Callinan, Black Betty proved to be a helluva fun band. Their playlist includes some artists I don't normally listen to, but have to say the show was enjoyable from start to finish. Northwoods owner Jeff Fryzel must have thought so too. He rebooked them right on the spot.
On top of fronting for Black Betty, Molly appears with Catfight and Rock Candy. Two other popular Chitown bands. She also has toured nationally in off Broadway productions of the Rocky Horror Show and Dirty Dancing.
